UQK Float Level Switches: What They Are and How to Source Them from China

If you manage tanks on a vessel or in a plant, the UQK float level switch is one of those parts you only think about when it fails — and then you need it fast. This guide covers what UQK switches are, the common variants, the specs to provide when you request a quote, and how TMH sources them from China.

What is a UQK float switch?

A UQK float level switch (float level controller) uses a buoyant float on a pivoting arm to open or close an electrical contact as liquid rises or falls. It is used to signal high or low level, start or stop pumps, and trigger alarms in fuel, fresh-water, bilge, ballast, and industrial process tanks. Because it is a simple, robust mechanical device, it remains one of the most common level-control parts on board.

The UQK series

"UQK" is a widely-used designation for marine and industrial float level switches, produced by many Chinese manufacturers in variants such as UQK-01, UQK-02, UQK-03, UQK-651, UQK-652 and UQK-71. They differ mainly in:

  • Mounting — side-mounted or top-flange, with different thread or flange sizes.
  • Contact rating — the voltage and current the internal switch can handle.
  • Float and body material — stainless steel or plastic, which decides chemical and temperature compatibility.
  • Pressure and temperature range — important for pressurised or hot tanks.

Specs to provide when you request a quote

To get an accurate quote and the right part the first time, include as much of the following as you can:

  • Model / part code (for example UQK-652-C-2/Z)
  • Working voltage and contact rating
  • Float and body material — critical for fuel, seawater, or chemicals
  • Mounting type and thread / flange size
  • Working pressure and temperature
  • A photo of the nameplate, if the original is still installed

OEM, equivalent, or aftermarket?

Because UQK switches are made by many manufacturers, the same model number can vary in quality and price. TMH sources across a wide range of Chinese manufacturers — OEM-channel, OE-equivalent, and aftermarket — and labels every quote line clearly, so you can choose on quality and budget rather than guessing what is behind a model number.

Need a UQK float switch?

Send us the model or a photo of the nameplate together with your tank and liquid details. We will confirm feasibility and reply with a written quote, lead time, and Incoterm. You can also browse the catalogue by part code, or send an inquiry directly.

Have a marine parts request?

TMH coordinates sourcing, quotation, forwarding, and export communication from Shanghai. Send the part name, OEM number where available, quantity, and vessel details — you will receive a written quote with lead time and Incoterm.
